"Quest and Wildcard" This is the latest piece of character art I have created for my book series "Seals of Creation" book 1 "Awakening" is available on Amazon.com and Createspace. The art style is Japanese Anime/Manga style. Created in high resolution this new piece of art depicts a back profile view of Quest and a front profile view of his teammate Wildcard standing on top of a ship with another ship in the background firing an energy weapon. I am creating the character art while writing the second book in the "Seals of Creation" series to give people a visual context for the story and some of its content. House for "Arthur and the rain" demo In this 3D Studio Max project I re-tooled a house for an animation called "Arthur and the rain." These 3 images are V-Ray versions of the house that I set in a neutral studio setting. Some of the demo work for this project can be viewed at the following links. The house is a low poly project with only slightly more then 3000 poly's. This is the final version of the Wicked Horizon Designs 2013 animation. Created in 3D Studio Max for the up-coming WickedHorizonDesigns.com website. The logo and effects of the scene have a nice shift from red to green with some added lens effects using Video Post. The logo spins from its central pivot point in opposite directions. This version includes the letters W,H & D which is stationary inside the logo spin. I used a high reflective gloss material type for the glowing effect material I.D's. The scene maps are all U.V.W with added bump maps for depth. The final version has been rendered using the Cebas Final Render plugin to render out the PNG frames. Since then, the “Betrayers” have blazed a fiery path across the galaxy, resulting in massive destruction and endless suffering. Based on the need to survive, the remaining free worlds have banded together to form a makeshift alliance. Tetra Prime has become the new official capital for the alliance. The new capital however, is far from perfect, grappling with its own international struggles. In the midst of the greater galactic threat, Quest, a cadet fresh out of training, finds he is destined to play a pivotal role in the preservation of all life, and creation itself. Symbiote B project update 04/30/2012 New sample test render images from our "Symbiote B" animation project showing some of the effects that have been added. The full project is being developed in 3D Studio Max and utilizes a variety of complex animations and effects. Video Post, animated lasers, atmosphere and environment settings, etc. Most of the UVW mapped texturing is created using the "Cebas Final Render - Final Toon" plug-in. The plasma cloud and vent effects are animated using the "Sitni Sati - After-Burn" plug-in. The final animation sequence includes dozens of animated objects and 70 to 80 different laser and lighting settings. http://wickedhorizondesigns.blogspot.com/2012/04/artist-thomas-kinkade-passes-away.html I could not let today go by without mentioning the passage of one of my favorite artists Thomas Kinkade who passed away at age 54 due to natural causes on Friday at his home in Los Gatos San Francisco Bay area. I always remember being inspired by his beautiful scenic paintings. Whether they were towns and houses of picturesqueness or scenes of stone walk paths, gardens or bridges resting over streams and rivers. I remember when I began my own path in the field of art at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco my mother would send me postcards of Thomas Kinkade's art and they were always a welcomed comfort. The first of his paintings painting that I had ever seen was and remains my favorite "Garden of Prayer". I want this post to reflect the profound respect I have for an artist who's wonderful gift has brightened the world and has brought to us many "Seasons of Light". J. Introducing "Symbiote B" the first custom original theme character for W.H.D "Wicked Horizon Designs." In the up-coming months "Wicked Horizon Designs will be launching its designer/gamer website where people interested in graphics design, video games, tutorials and designers who wish to market their 3D creations & texture map creations. The design of the website is themed in the setting of a cartoon style space station far out in the Universe somewhere and is populated completely by unusual custom created aliens and robots.
