About Me
Hello-I'm Yao. I'm currently living in New York City and attending the School of Visual Arts. I have a great passion for drawing and experimenting with art forms, while seeking a professional career in illustration. As a student, I am still exploring different styles and forms, whether it is fine art, graphic novels, manga or anything in between. I love oil painting and figure drawing.
That being said, I do accept commissions for portraits, costomized greeting cards, birthday cards or designing your first CD cover, etc.
I currently reside in a piano storage room behind a dry cleaning store in Brooklyn.:) How fun!

Biography
Yao Xiao grew up in Tianjin, China. There she started learning painting at a young age of four. In the year 2006 she came to the United States as an exchange student. She was placed in a high school in Illinois. She took art classes there, and the experience changed her life. Yao strengthened her skills day by day, while enjoying the freedom to make the kind of art she likes. Yao made up her mind to seek a career in art and put her whole life into it. Now she earned her Associate of Arts degree at North Seattle Community College and she is pursuing a BFA in illustration at the School of Visul Arts in New York City.
