About Me
I'm Yao. I'm currently living in Seattle, Washington. A lot of the artworks shown on this website is for sale at reasonable prices, even though the passion I have for them is nothing that can be measured by price. I express my emotions through my artworks, some of them are very personal. However, I do accept commissions for portraits, costomized greeting cards, birthday cards or other things. I'm a cheerful young artist and I love what I do.

Biography
Yao Xiao grew up in Tianjin, China. There she started learning painting at a young age of four, even though she was not born in a family with artists. It was popular for the parents back then, to have their kids learn a skill before they start elementry school. Yao attended drawing classes at a weekend school for kids till I reached third grade. Her parents decided not to have her learn art anymore, because it would hurt Yao's grades. She did not take decent art classes again till the summer of 2005 when she graduated from middle school. However, during those years Yao never stopped drawing. It was something she really loved to do. It became her underground hobby. In the year 2006 she came to the United States as an exchange student. She was placed in a high school in Illinois. She took art classes there, and the experience changed her life. Yao strengthened her skills day by day, while enjoying the freedom to make the kind of art she likes. When the exchange year was over, she came to Seattle for community college. Yao made up her mind to seek a career in art and put her whole life into it. Now she earned her Associate of Arts degree at North Seattle Community College and is very involved with local art events. Yao is going to Memphis College of Art in the fall of 2009 to study illustration.
