The waitakere region is full of surprise. Nature so close from Auckland is well preserved. You can find forest, beach, lake in the same place. And it’s only a thirty minutes drive from the city. So, one day, I walked with a map on Waitakere region. One detail of the map looked strange to me. So I decided to go and see what was going on. I discovered a kind of small desert where everywhere I look I could see nothing but sand surrounding me.

I continued to walk and in a surrealistic way, I saw this man and this child who were waiting to rent a kayak ! “strange idea” I thought. It was so unreal.

In fact after I had crossed this desert, and seen no one but a few persons, I discovered a wonderful lake !
