What is News? it seems the media is a scanning eye, magpie like attracted to the bright and shiny be it fresh gore or gold. It is an eye which never rests for long, never dwells and is always on the verge of being drawn away.
This is the nature of News, it has to be fresh, it is a commodity, it has to arouse our attention, it must in some sense entertain, a macabre theatre of truth.
