PAINTINGS : “ FLEUVE D 'IMAGES”
“A mild mixture of symbolism, surrealism and comics, a kind of illustration without a story; thoughts that have grown out of proportion and have been thrown into oil-paintings and mixed-techniques on paper." Wild ideas from a constant moving spirit are born in new unexpected situations.
The first main theme is perishableness , the thought of the apocalypse is never far away. We humans; small creatures that are only a part of this gigantic universe. Despite our knowledge of this we try to control things that happen here on earth and manipulate reality, but in the end everything we do is just create chaos and destruction. On the other hand my work emphasizes the fact that it is impossible for us to have control, because we are small fragile beings.
The second main theme is 'water'; this is something you can find in all of my work. Water: rolling, flowing, foaming, spatting, destructive, very powerful and fascinatingly beautiful.
