Greetings! :) Letting my hidden inner fine-artist personality out, I made it to the Armory Show at the piers in NYC today. ...It was great! I was so excited seeing so much comtemporary art, and I spent 2 hours oooing and ahhing, taking notes and pictures of the crazy artworks I saw--spinning heads in a machine, paintings that walk. backyards fences made of neon lights... At some point it felt like being in a science&technology show. My favorite piece was a dumping truck constructed in gothic-style metal sheets...it was a Gothic Cathedral dumping truck. I was so dazzled that I forgot I have been lying in bed for the past 24 hours, making up sleep from the monstrous week I just had and the 14-hours creating the art piece for Transmet Art Book...and I almost passed out! Thanks to my friend Dennis and the security guard, I got enough water before I could black out from dehydration. Phew! For all the people that work hard for what you love--take good care of your body! It passes out when it needs to! Annnnnd this is what really happened... Go check out the Armory Show while it lasts!!

ink on bristol, photoshop The book project I've worked on for weeks! Now it's finally in a presentable form.:) I enjoyed drawing them so much and when they came out hot out of the printer this morning I couldn't help but shake with joy!:) The book is illustrated version of the old English poem "Monday's Child," and I decided to take a slightly twisted approach by illustrating this glamourous freak show circus. It was my favorite project so far, and I'm preparing to make actual mini books of this for Mocca! Here, please enjoy the illustrations in their weekday order:

Submission made to the 6th HOPE art competition sponsored by the Health and Conseling Services at SVA. The theme is "finding you balance."The piece is inspired by my experience of the craziness of the school+city life when I first came to New York. Wish I find balance like she does! Hmmmmm...(sleep deprived)
